Detailed description of Highland Park Municipal Golf Course
Highland Park Municipal Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Mason City, Iowa.
The course first opened for play in 1918 with what is now the front-nine at Highland Park. The back-nine was opened in the 1960's. the course was designed by David Arthur Gill.
The golf course has two very distinct nines, built 40 years apart.
The front nine is the older of the two nines measuring 2,950 yards and has small greens with tight, tree-lined fairways. The back nine was constructed in the mid-1960's, measures 3,250 yards and has large greens with long and fairly open fairways.
The Highland Park Golf Course plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,215 yards for a course rating of 69.0 and a slope rating of 110.

Staff is very friendly. Typical muni course. Gets a ton a traffic, especially in the morning. Too bad people don't take better care of it. Divits all over the course go unreplaced. Still the course is fun to play. Low scores can be had here.
